Taher trial illegal

HC says Zia masterminded cold-blooded murder of Taher (March 23, 2011)

We expected this kind of verdict. But this verdict has wider consequences. In Bangladesh, killing or fake trial is an on-going phenomenon. High Court now should find out whether any other killing or fake trial has been or is going on. Justice should be done to all the people who have been the victims of injustice now or before. Laws of the country should be equally applicable to all citizens.

What an irony of fate! Both are dead.... such is the judicial system. The man is found not guilty after more than two decades! What good would it do now? It is nothing but propaganda of the current administration.

Justice has been done to Col. Taher. Now we want to do justice to 40,000 freedom fighters who were killed by the Rakhkhi Bahini and the persons behind the killing. No killing should go unpunished irrespective whoever does it.

Everything is possible in this country. Another judge may declare this verdict illegal. What will we do then?
