Three die in road crashes

Three people were killed and four policemen injured in road accidents in Thakurgaon, Habiganj and Comilla on Sunday night and yesterday.
Our correspondent from Thakurgaon reports: A youth was killed in a road accident on Pirganj-Ranishankoil road at Old Sugar Cane Centre in Ranishankoil upazila yesterday.
Harun or Rashid, 23, son of Kasimuddin of Bangaon village in Haripur upazila died on the spot.
Police said the accident occurred at about 6:00am when a the upazila -bound coach hit a motorbike. Police seized the bus.
BSS, Habiganj adds: Four police were injured in a road accident at Richi village in Sadar upazila Sunday night.
Police said the accident occurred when a truck hit a tempo carrying police personnel. The injured were admitted to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital.
In another accident, Selim Mia, 30, of Purasundha village in Sadar upazila, died on the spot as a truck hit him at Alipur yesterday.
UNB, Comilla adds: Sima Akter, 10, daughter of Abdur Rouf of the village and a class- III student of a local school, was crushed under the wheels of a tractor at Mandra village in Nangolkoat upazila yesterday.
