Two more prosecutors for war crimes trial
The government yesterday appointed two prosecutors for conducting cases relating to war crimes on behalf of the state in the international crimes tribunal.
They new prosecutors are--Assistant Attorneys General Fazilatunesa Bappy and Nurjahan Mukta. Now the number of prosecutors stands at 10.
Fazilatunnesa Bappy told The Daily Star she received the letter signed by solicitor of law ministry Mir Shafiqul Alam.
According to the letter, the new prosecutors will collect their retainer fee and other allowances from the office of attorney general. Chief prosecutor Ghulam Arieff Tipoo on January 29 told media that his office is suffering shortage of manpower and logistic supports.
