DU political science deptt examination postponed
Dhaka University authorities postponed an MSS examination of 2005 on the comprehensive course under political science department yesterday after it emerged that most questions were leaked.
On Friday, teachers received an application addressed to the vice chancellor, which claimed that questions have been leaked. The questions were also mentioned in the application.
Before the start of the examination yesterday, the authorities compared the leaked questions with the exam questions only to find that most questions are identical.
VC Prof SMA Faiz admitted that questions have been leaked.
Later, a group of examinees met the VC and demanded a change in the examination committee, saying that it has lost its credibility.
A three-member investigation committee has been formed to find out how the questions were leaked and who are responsible for it. The committee headed by Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, dean of social sciences faculty, will submit its report within seven days.
The other members of the committee are Prof Tazmeri SA Islam, dean of science faculty, and Syed Rezaur Rahman, acting registrar of the university.
Leaked questions found their way to almost every dormitories of the university, students said, adding that the questions were also sold at different places at various rates.
Talking to The Daily Star, several teachers of the department alleged that the three members of the examination committee are responsible for the question leakage.
