BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday said the government has destroyed the economy of the country.
He said thirty-three lakh stock investors have lost everything. The share market debacle only happens during the Awami League government, he added.
He said some people loyal to the ruling party have taken away a lot of money from the pocket of the investors in the stock market.
Fakhrul told a rally in front of BNP's central office at Naya Paltan in the city.
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal organised it to mark the 75th birth anniversary of BNP's founder Ziaur Rahman.
Leaders and activists of JCD from different units and Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque also attended the rally chaired by JCD President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku.
