SC clears way for holding Feni polls

The Supreme Court yesterday cleared the way for holding election to Feni municipality, scheduled to be held on January 18.
Chamber judge of the Appellate Division Justice SK Sinha yesterday stayed for two weeks a High Court order that halted the process of holding the elections to this municipality.
The judge passed the order following a petition, filed by the returning officer of Feni challenging the HC order.
In response to a writ petition, the HC on January 9 stayed the process for holding election to Feni municipality till January 17.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam appeared for the returning officer.
