Show no pity for war criminals
President of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Col (retd) Oli Ahmad Bir Bikram yesterday said the nation should not show any mercy for the war criminals.
According to him, the government should finish off the trial by June this year and maintain highest level of transparency in it. The nation eagerly waits to see the real criminals punished, he added.
Oli was addressing a press conference organised by LDP at a restaurant in the port city on the grand-alliance government's two-year completion.
The LDP leader alleged the present government has already passed half the tenure, but its election manifesto is yet to be implemented. He said we see the change of hands by state power, not the change of days.
The government tends to suppress the opposition, but it should stop that for the greater interest of democracy, he added.
Oli said we need honest politics as well as honest politicians for the development of the country and stressed the need to reform of the old and ancient laws.
He proposed the government divide the state into 11 provinces for the proper development of every part of the country and urged the people to break the two-party system by changing the government through election.
