Theft in city drug store

Medicines and various surgical instruments worth about Tk 11 lakh were looted from a drug store at Topkhana Road in the city in the early hours of yesterday.
Khorshed Alam Majumder, owner of Tuntun Medicine Mart at Topkhana Road under Shahbagh police station, said the employees found broken 11 locks of the medicine shop at Mahbub Plaza in the morning. He said he rushed to the shop when his employees informed him about the matter. He said he found all the expensive medicines, surgical instruments and Tk 10,000 in cash were missing from the shop.
He said he and his employees locked the shop and left at about 10:30pm on Tuesday. Badsha, one of the employees, at first found the locks broken at about 8:00am yesterday, he added.
