Whither development?

I don't know whether letters of expatriates published in the dailies are valued by policy makers in Bangladesh at all, because we don't see any action or response as if our only duty is to send remittance, the and utilisation of which we are not supposed to know.
One of my Bangladeshi friends, who teaches economics at an Australian university, went to China recently and learned that the Chinese were ready to transfer their billion dollar projects to Bangladesh because of the cheap labour and maintenance cost, but eventually were unable to do so due to law and order slide, bureaucracy, transport and communications problem, energy crisis, etc. Can our lawmakers give more time in solving these problems?
