Novo Nordisk high-ups due in Dhaka
Lise Kingo, Jesper Høiland and Sanjeev Shishoo
Three high officials of Novo Nordisk are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka tomorrow to take part in a two-day event, says a statement.
Lise Kingo, executive vice president, chief of staff of corporate relations for Novo Nordisk; Jesper Høiland, senior vice president, and Sanjeev Shishoo, vice president (Oceania and Southeast Asia), are the officials.
Novo Nordisk in association with Diabetic Association of Bangladesh is organising the programme.
They will also inaugurate a clinic, Changing Diabetes in Children, at BIRDEM in Dhaka tomorrow and an insulin manufacturing facility of Eskayef Pharma (Pvt) Ltd on Thursday.
Eskayef has recently signed a partnership agreement with Novo Nordisk to manufacture international insulin locally to meet its growing need in the country.
Kingo has joined Novo industry's Enzyme Promotion in 1988. She was appointed corporate vice president for stakeholder relations in 1999 and promoted to the present post in 2002.
Chair of the board of Steno Diabetes Centre, Denmark, she is a professor at the medical faculty of Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
She is also a member of Prince of Wales' advisory board on the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership and serves as co-chair of the Danish Council on corporate social responsibility.
Høiland is responsible for the organisation's operations in 150 countries consisting of 40 affiliate offices that have around 4,200 employees.
During his 20 years of service with Novo Nordisk, he served the company for 15 years in Belgium, Canada, France, Australia and Switzerland.
Shishoo deals with Novo Nordisk's business operations in 16 countries with affiliate offices in seven countries, including Australia and New Zealand.
