Village doc abducted for ransom

Criminals abducted a village doctor and demanded Tk 10 lakh ransom at Parlakhmipur in Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Mezbah Rahman, 52, son of late Ismail Hossain of Teorbillah in the upazila.
According to victim's family sources, Mezbah, a quack, left home for visiting a patient at Parlakhmipur village on Saturday afternoon.
Criminals stopped his motorbike on Parlakhmipur-Asandipur Road in the village at about 7:30pm.
The gang picked up Mezbah, leaving his bike on the road. Locals found the bike and informed Mezbah's family.
At night, an unknown caller using Mezbah's mobile phone called his family members and demanded Tk 10 lakh for his release.
