Market monitoring team fines 4 traders
A government market monitoring team fined four traders Tk 1.30 lakh during its drive in the city yesterday on charge of violating the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.
A team of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate under the Commerce Ministry conducted the drive at Shantinagar Bazar in the morning and penalised four traders for selling essential goods at higher price.
Deputy Secretary of the Commerce Ministry M Abu Taleb led the drive in cooperation with the members of Consumers Association of Bangladesh, Fisheries Directorate, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
