CCC removes eight police boxes
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) in a drive removed eight more police boxes from the port city on the second day yesterday.
A team led by CCC Magistrate Sheikh Salesh Ahmed removed the police boxes from different areas including Bahodderhat intersection, Sholoshahar Gate No. 2, GEC, MM Ali Road and Wasa intersection.
CCC earlier identified 18 police boxes set up by different advertisement firms.
CCC also sent letters to the CMP commissioner and enquired about the police boxes, sources at CCC said.
“The CMP commissioner in a letter on October 28 informed us that they didn't posses those police boxes which have been provided by different advertising firms,” said Magistrate Sheikh Salesh Ahmed adding that they took initiatives to remove those after receiving the letter from the CMP commissioner.
CCC will remove rest of the police boxes within a short time, he said.
CCC started the drive on Tuesday evicted six billboards at Sholoshahar intersection.
