Stalkers injure 7 including two teachers in Madaripur
Stalkers and their accomplices injured two teachers and five students of Nurul Amin University College in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district yesterday following protest against teasing a girl student.
In Satkhira, father of two female students of a madrasa filed a case against two stalkers for assaulting his daughter.
A Correspondent reports from Madaripur: Kamal Hossain, a teacher of Nurul Amin University College, was conducting a class of HSC first year when Rokon Mia, a student of the class, uttered slang language directing at a female classmate, said teachers, students and police.
Shafiqul Islam, a student of the class, protested the act.
Centring the issue, a gang of 20 to 22 students led by Rokon surrounded Shafiqul, Yousuf and Rakib, all from Sheikhpara area, at around 9:00am yesterday.
As Shafiqul ran towards the students' hostel the gang chased him and beat him up mercilessly.
Being informed, Assistant Professor Jahir Raihan went to the spot, rescued Shafiqul and took him to the principal's room and gave him first aid.
Following assurance from the principal, Shafiqul, Yousuf, Rakib and several other students of Sheikhpura area went to the second floor of the college to attend a class.
A few minutes later, a gang led by Rokon again swooped on the students from Sheikhpura area and beat them up, injuring three people.
The criminals also injured teachers Jahir Raihan and Kamal Hossain as they tried to prevent the attackers.
On information, two teams led by Sub-Inspector Oliduzzaman and Sub-Inspector from Shibchar police station and Bhadrasan police camp rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, college Principal Lutfor Rahman said.
Our Satkhira Correspondent adds: Father of two female students of a madrasa filed a case with Shyamnagar police station against two stalkers on Saturday night.
The accused are Ismail Hossain, 24, and Ibrahim Hossain, 21, of village Mahmudpur in Shyamnagar upazila.
Shahidullah Gazi of village Mahmudpur in Shyamnagar filed the case.
The complainant said Ismail and Ibrahim used to tease his two daughters, who are class nine students of Shyamnagar Kendriya Alim Madrasa, on the way to their institution.
The two men assaulted the girls when they were returning home from the madrasa on Thursday, he alleged.
As the news of the incident spread among the students, they informed madrasa Principal Maulana Ismail Hossain and demanded arrest and punishment of the stalkers.
Informed by the principal, police rushed to the madrasa and assured the students that they would take stern action against the stalkers.
"We are trying to arrest the stalkers," Shyamnagar police station Officer in Charge Abdus Samad said after filing of the case.
