A painting competition for children was held in Chapainawabganj town on Monday afternoon to mark the 47th birth anniversary of Sheikh Russell.
Sheikh Russell Jatiyo Shishu-Kishore Parishad, district unit organised the event at Town Club. About 100 children from different educational institutes in town took part in the competition in three categories. A discussion was also held at the same venue.
Ajit Roy, president of Sheikh Russell Jatiyo- Shishu Kishore Parishad, Chapainawabagnj unit chaired the event.
Moinuddin Mondol, former mayor of Chapainawabganj municipality and general secretary of district Awami League addressed the discussion as the chief guest. Among others, two vice chairmen of sadar upazila parishad Shantana Haque and Ziaur Rahman, were also present as special guest.
In the concluding session, the chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of the painting competition.
