Dockworkers beat up two workers of a private berth operator at Chittagong Port yesterday.
Injured, Md Mainuddin and Ali Asgar of Fazle Sons Ltd were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
The attack came when Mainuddin and Ali went to jetty No-9 around 12:30pm to perform their duties.
Farhad Uddin Ahmed, a Chittagong Port official, said they had heard about the chase and counter-chase, but not about the attack.
On Saturday, dockworkers of Dock Bandar Sramik Karmachari Federation protested against the handling of containers by the berth operator before fulfilling their demands.
