A thief died in mob beating at Lochangor village under Natore Sadar upazila on Sunday night.
The victim was identified as Hannan Shah, 45, of Kasharighasha village under the upazila.
Natore police station SI Nabir Uddin said Hannan is a notorious thief. Locals beat him mercilessly on an allegation that he tried to steal two cows from Dulal's house at Lochangor village on Sunday night. Police sent the body to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
