A traditional boat race was held on Kaliganga River at Bewtha Ghat under the Municipality area of Manikganj on October 8. Manikganj District Sports Association (DSA) organised the traditional boat race. DSA secretary AFM Sultanul Azam Khan called upon organisations and boat owners to take part in the competition.
Local lawmaker Zahid Maleque Swapan was present as chief guest and Deputy Commissioner Munshi Shahabuddin Ahmed, Police Superintendent Md. Masud Karim and president of Manikganj district Awami League advocate Golam Mohiuddin were guests while Manikganj Municipality Mayor Md. Romzan Ali chaired the function. Around 100 boats participated in the race.
