First Division Chess starts today
The Metropolis First Division Chess League will begin today with two top names missing from the top competition.
Muktijoddha Sangsad and Titas Club have not entered this year's fray where 14 teams will compete.
Defending champions Bangladesh Biman will face last year's runners-up Leonine in one of the opening day's seven matches at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room.
The other teams are: Chittagong Mohammedan, Destiny 2000, Narayanganj City Chess Club, Sonali Bank, Dhaka University Chess Club, Mohakhali Pradip Sangha, Friends Chess Power, Farashganj SC, Faith Chess Club, Agragati Chess Club (Toyota Motors), Prime Life Insurance Company and Sultana Kamal Smriti Pathagar.
