6000kg fertiliser seized in Dinajpur

800 Urea bags in Bandarban

About 6,000 kilograms of fertiliser including TSP was seized from Raniganj village under Dinajpur Sadar upazila on Monday night for alleged hoarding to realise high prices from the farmers, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.
Acting on a tip off, Chirirbandar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rezaul Karim and Agriculture Extension Officer Md Abdur Rahman jointly conducted a raid at Ranibandar village at 8:30pm and found at least 6000 kg fertiliser at the godown of Kakan Traders, sources said.
The owner of the godown managed to escape sensing the raid.
Our Bandarban correspondent reports: Police yesterday seized 800 bag of fertiliser that was stored illegally by a tobacco company at Alikadam Bazar in the district.
As the tobacco company started stocking one tonne (800 bags) of Urea fertiliser in their godown early morning, local fertiliser dealers informed the upazilla nirbahi officer (UNO) and upazilla agriculture officer.
Following instruction from the UNO, police seized the fertiliser.
