2 housewives beaten to death in Ctg, Dinajpur

A pregnant housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband and in-laws at Jhautala Bihari Colony in the city following a family feud on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Amena Begum, 28, wife of Mohammad Hossain.
Sub Inspector Mohsmmad Enam of Khulsi police station quoting locals said Hossain and his sister Taslima beat up Amena mercilessly at about 1 pm, leaving her seriously injured.
Neighbours rushed the victim to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital where she died at about 2 pm.
Police arrested Hossain and Taslima in this connection.
In Dinajpur, another housewife was murdered allegedly by her husband for dowry at Showgunkhola village in Nababganj upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Rozina Begum, 30, wife of Mamunur Rashid and daughter of Shahidul Islam of nearby Malipara village.
Police said Rozina got married with Mamun about 10 years ago. After some days of their marriage Mamun and her mother started torturing Rozina to bring dowry money from her parents.
On the fateful night Mamun picked up a quarrel with Rozina, mother of two children, and beat her mercilessly leaving her dead on the spot. The greedy husband fled the house after the incident.
Police arrested Mamun's mother Roushanara Begum in this connection.
