3 killed in road accedents
At least three people, including two minors, were killed in separate road accidents in Kishoreganj and Jhenidah yesterday.
A correspondent from Kishoreganj reports: Two people, including a minor were killed in a crash between a motorbike and a train in Osmanpur under Kuliarchar upazila of the district yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Akash Mia, 16, of Osmanpur and a class nine student of Kuliarchar Pilot High School, and Shohag Mia, 24, also of Osmanpur and a guard of a local school.
The accident occurred when a motorbike collided with the Kishoreganj-bound intercity train at the Osmanpur level crossing in Kuliarchar at around 12:00pm. Akash, driver of the bike, died on the spot while Shohag succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
Bhairab GRP police recovered the bodies and sent for autopsy.
Our correspondent from Jhenidah adds: A bus crushed a minor boy to death at Kaliganj-Mobarakganj level crossing on the Jibonnagar-Kaliganj highway in Jhenidah at around 8:30am yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Hashanur Rahman, 13, son of Hashem Ali of Boroghighati village of Kaliganj upazila.
The accident occurred when Hashanur was going to Kaliganj by bi-cycle through the level crossing. A Jibonnagar-bound bus knocked him down leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Police seized the bus but the driver and helper managed to flee.
