Delwar, two other BNP leaders now sued in Ctg
A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) president of Chittagong unit lodged a complaint of sedition yesterday against three central leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist party (BNP) for giving death threats to the prime minister.
The accused are BNP Secretary General Khandoker Delwar Hossain, Standing Committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia and Vice Chairman Shah Moazzem Hossain.
Badiul Khaer Chowdhury Liton, of Rangunia Upazila BCL unit lodged the complaint with the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Keshob Chandra Roy in the afternoon.
In the complaint Liton alleged that the three opposition leaders made speeches giving indirect death threat to the prime minister at an agitation rally organised by BNP at Muktangon in Dhaka on July 25.
Under the sections 120 (Kha) and 506 (Kha) of Criminal Procedures, speeches of the accused are deemed to be deep conspiracy against the prime minister, the government and the country, he alleged.
The court fixed its hearing for today on whether the complaint could be recorded as a case.
