Reckless driving takes another life in city

Rash driving has claimed yet another life in the city. A passenger bus hit a woman killing her on the spot on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Jatrabari yesterday evening.
The deceased, Laily Begum, 52, was a street hawker and wife of Abdur Rahman of Rayerbagh area in Jatrabari.
Witnesses said a Narsingdi-bound bus ran over her while she was crossing the road.
Irate, locals vandalised at least five vehicles including the killer bus, halting traffic movement for around half an hour on Dhaka-Chittagong highway, police said.
The driver of the killer bus, however, managed to flee the spot, Rezaul Hasan, sub-inspector of Jatrabari Police Station, told The Daily Star.
