Narsingdi road crash kills five
At least five people, including four of a family, were killed and two others injured when a Narsingdi-bound truck hit a CNG-run autorickshaw near Itakhola Highway intersection in Jamtola in Shibpur upazila of the district yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Bedan Mia, 45, His wife Johora, 30, their daughter Sadia, 1.5, Bedan's brother Siraj Mia, 30 and Raju Mia of Jantola area.
The accident occurring at around 12:15pm left the four of a family dead on spot. Raju Mia succumbed to his injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
A correspondent from Natore adds: One person was killed and seven others were seriously injured when the driver of a bus carrying a bridal party lost control near Lakkhipur Bazar in Natore upazila at around 8:00pm Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Intaz Ali, 35.
Of the injured Abdul Aowal, 45, was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Saiyad Ali, 32, Abul Khayrer, 45 and Aolad Hossain, 22, were admitted to Natore Sadar Hospital.
Identity of the other two injured could not be known.
