Four-day real estate fair opens in Ctg Wednesday
A four-day real estate fair titled “8th BD-RED Abasan Mela '09” begins in the city on Wednesday.
Bangladesh Real Estate Directory (BD-RED) is organising the fair at the Chittagong auditorium of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
At least 47 real estate and construction material companies from the capital and Chittagong will take part in the fair, said the organisers at a press conference held at a hotel in the city yesterday.
BD-RED chief executive Mohammad Yasin Khan read out a written statement at the conference while media director Shamim Rahman and 'Amader Abasan' deputy editor Nazrul Islam spoke among others.
Yasin Khan said BD-RED is very keen to play a pivotal role in development of Chittagong and the participants will join the fair with their lucrative offers.
“We bagged a business of around Tk 300 crore during the BD-RED fair last year and hope to break the previous record this year,” he said.
Industry minister Dilip Barua will inaugurate the fair as chief guest at 5.00pm on Wednesday. The fair will remain open to public from 11.00am to 9.00pm everyday.
To mark the fair a seminar on “Natural Environment of Chittagong and Growth of Real Estate Industry: Present Context” will be held today at Hotel Tower Inn.
Chittagong City Corporation mayor Mohammad Manzur Alam will attend the function as chief guest.
A procession with the slogan “We want Environment Friendly Accommodation for All” will also be brought out from city's Wasa Intersection at 9:00am on Tuesday.
Besides, raffle draw and painting competition for the children will also be held on the occasion, they added.
Seven Properties Limited is the event partner of the fair while Amin Mohammad Group, Berger Paints Bangladesh, KK Foundation Limited, Asian Paints Bangladesh Limited, Comfort Homes Limited, Impulse Properties Limited, Nasim Group, Sky-tech Builders and Developers Limited and Nazrul Chowdhury Assets (Private) Limited are the co-organisers and TV channel Bangla Vision and Radio Today are the media partners, the organisers said.
