Programmes to mark Aug 15

Awami League (AL) and its associate organisations yesterday announced a month-long programme to observe national mourning day on August 15, death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The programme includes discussions, blood donation, torch procession, wearing black badge, placing wreaths at the graveyards of Bangabandhu and others who were brutally assassinated on the night of August 15, 1975.
Jubo League will commence the programme through torch procession on Bangabandhu Memorial Museum premises at the capital's Dhanmondi and at shaheed minars of different districts and upazilas today at 12:01am.
AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be present as chief guest in the blood donation programme at Bangabandhu Bhaban today at 9:00am. Bangladesh Krishok League will organise the programme.
The premier is also scheduled to attend a discussion and reception ceremony on August 5th at the Abahani Club premises at 5:00pm.
