Mohammedan confirm eleven
Mohammedan Sporting Club have confirmed services of 11 players in a bid to forming a youthful side for the upcoming football season after having lost all of their previous season's booters to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Muktijoddha Sangsad.
Of 11 players so far confirmed, only striker Touhidul Islam Siddique of Chittagong Mohammedan was called on for the preliminary national squad for the South Asian Games held in Bangladesh earlier this year while the other ten are seemingly mediocre players. They are Mohammad Rony, Rajon Mia and Ramjan Ali of Sheikh Russel, Kamrul and Moloy Barman of Arambagh, Akbar Hossain Ridon and Shawkat of Chittagong Mohammedan, Razib of Shukhtara Jubo Sangsad, Monu of Feni Soccer Club and Rashed of Muktijoddha Sangsad.
Mohammedan manager Amirul Islam Babu said that they have made token payments to the eleven players after getting verbal assurance from them to play for Mohammedan.
The popular club from Motijheel appeared in the transfer market after newcomers Sheikh Jamal, rejuvenated Muktijoddha Sangsad, Bangladesh League champions Abahani and new-powerhouse Sheikh Russel KC had almost ensured country's top footballers.
