Vibrant cultural programme
GPA-5 achievers in the SSC examination in Thakurgaon district were accorded a reception on Thursday at Thakurgaon District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium.
Following the reception, a vibrant cultural programme was held with the participation of local artistes.
Prothom Alo and Rabi, a leading mobile operator in the country, jointly organised the programme.
The programme started with a group dance to the thematic song of Prothom Alo, “Bodle dao Bodle jao”.
Mojibor Rahaman, district correspondent of Prothom Alo delivered the introductory speech. He then urged to the students to join the movement against eve teasing and drugs. All the GPA-5 achievers vowed to resist such social evils.
Eminent cultural personality, educationist Professor Montosh Kumer De attended as chief guest.
Among others, headmaster of Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School Akhteruzzaman Shabu; headmaster of Thakurgaon Girls' High School Shankor Kumer Gosh; headmaster of Pirganj High School Md. Mofizul Haque; editor of Daily Lokayan, Abu Torab Manik; regional manager of Robi Zayed Hasan; lecturer of Ranishankoil Degree College Proshanto Kumer Boshak, addressed the gathering.
After his speech Professor Montosh Kumer De handed over crests to three best schools in the district and later to the students who bagged GPA-5 in the last SSC examination.
About 700 GPA-5 achievers attended the programme.
After the distribution of crests a local artistes, including members of Prothom Alo Bhondhu Shabha, performed at the programme.
Tuhin and his group performed dances to the strains of various melodies.
