Priyobhashini’s solo show begins today

Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts organised a press conference on the occasion of a solo sculpture exhibition titled “Sylvan Forms” of Ferdousi Priyobhashini on July 18 at the Bengal's café. The exhibition begins today at the Bengal Gallery in Dhanmondi and will continue till July 28.
Priyobhashini is one of the noted self-taught sculptors of our country. Her works are very intimately connected with nature and people. She uses twigs, branches, roots, brushwood and dry trees in her sculptural works. Her works demonstrate human figures, birds, marine animals, doors, windows, huts and various familiar and unfamiliar forms.
Priyobhashini was born in 1948. She was a valiant freedom fighter. She received the Shadhinota Padak in 2010. She has so far held 10 solo exhibitions in the country and abroad.
Those who spoke at the press conference were Subir Chowdhury, director of Bengal Gallery; sculptor Ferdousi Priyobhashini and Sarwar Jahan, manager of Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts.
