Indira Gandhi Culture Centre, High Commission of India, Dhaka is holding a retrospective of films of the late Uttam Kumar, the legendary actor, director and producer of Bengali cinema, from July 23 to 25, at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in Shahbagh, Dhaka.
The event is a part of a progra-mme to commemorate the 30th death anniversary of the iconic actor, says a press release.
Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs, Abul Kalam Azad, is set to inaugurate the film festival on July 23.
Among the films to be screened are “Harano Sur,” “Dhonni Meye,” “Chhoddobeshi,” “Shoptopodi,” “Chowrangi” and “Path-e Holo Deri.”
Complimentary passes for each show may be collected from July 18 onwards at Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, house no. 24, road 2, Dhanmondi, Dhaka and Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (library and auditorium), house no. 35, road 24, Gulshan 1, Dhaka.
