The Bangladesh General Insurance Company credited stock dividend for 2009 to respective shareholders' BO accounts yesterday.
SHAHJALAL ISLAMI BANK
The bank's Board of Directors has decided to hold its 10th EGM on August 28 at 11am at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka. The EGM aims to amend the relevant clauses of Memorandum and Articles of Association in order to change of face value of shares from Tk 100 to Tk 10, subject to the approval of the shareholders and regulatory authorities. A record date for the EGM is July 29.
NATIONAL LIFE INSURANCE
The insurer's share trading remains suspended today, a record date for AGM and EGM.
PROGRESSIVE LIFE INSURANCE
Trading of the insurer's shares will be allowed only on the spot market and block/odd lot transactions will also be settled as per spot settlement cycle-cum benefit from today to Thursday. Trading will remain suspended on Sunday, the record date.

Bimolendu Day, one of the sponsors/directors of the bank, seeks to sell his 10,000 shares out of 89,104, while Rowshanara Rahman, another sponsor/director, is willing to buy 10,000 shares (qualifying shares) at prevailing market price through stock exchanges in 30 workdays.
