Cops look for bombs at Razzaq's chamber

Two plainclothes policemen searched the Naya Paltan chamber of Abdur Razzaq, principal counsel for the detained Jamaat leaders, without showing any search warrant, the lawyer alleged yesterday.
Razzaq in a statement said the two entered his chamber at about 12:00noon and started searching the room, saying they had information that bombs are made there.
The counsel said it was done to harass and prevent him from performing professional duties.
Razzaq said he went to the Paltan Police Station to file a general diary but the police refused to record it.
Shahidul Huq, officer-in-charge of Paltan Police Station, said the police did not record the GD for not having any valid grounds.
He however admitted that plainclothes policemen searched Razzaq's chamber for bombs.
Members of police and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) yesterday raided office of Al-Falah Printing Press from where different publications of Jamaat-e-Islami were published.
They, however, did not seize any “questionable materials” from the press at the city's Boro Magbazar, police officials said.
Two teams of Rab and police raided the printing press for around half an hour started from 4:00pm. But we did not find any such publications there, Officer-in-Charge of Ramna Police Station SM Shiblee Noman told The Daily Star.
