Seven councillor candidates of Chittagong City Corporation polls were fined Tk 16,000 in total in connection with violating electoral code of conduct over last two days.
Mobile courts engaged in monitoring election campaigns penalised the candidates in six wards and realised the fine from them, sources said.
A candidate was fined Tk 2,000 at Bagmoniram (ward-15) yesterday in connection with pasting posters on a microbus that did not mention the printing date at the bottom.
The mobile courts on Friday fined two candidates Tk 2,000 each in West Madarbari (ward-29), two candidates Tk 3,000 each in West Bakolia and Pathantuli (ward-17 and -28) and two candidates Tk 2,000 each in South Pahartali and South Halishahar (ward-9 and -39).
Names of the fined candidates could not be known.
