Scouts launches lottery
Bangladesh Scouts, a voluntary non-political organisation, yesterday launched lottery worth Tk 10 for raising funds for maintaining its activities.
There are a total of 662 prizes, including first prize (one) Tk 25 lakh, second prize (one) Tk five lakh and third prize (two) Tk one lakh in the lottery.
The draw of the lottery will be held on August 11.
Chief National Commissioner of Scouts and Power Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad was present as the chief guest at the launching ceremony held at Scouts headquarters at Kakrail in the city yesterday.
National Commissioner of Scouts Prof Dr Nizam Uddin Ahmed was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Azad called on all to buy tickets of the lottery to help Bangladesh Scouts, whose membership now stand at 10 lakh, run its welfare-oriented activities.
