Creative set of questions from 2012
The government has decided to introduce creative question method in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations from 2012.
The method was applied in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations this year.
A circular issued by the education ministry yesterday said examination of Bangla 1st paper will be held under the new method in HSC and equivalent examinations from 2012.
According to the creative question method, each question in the narrative section has four segments of a particular topic.
Textbooks do not contain any sample question about the segments, and students who have thoroughly studied the books can answer those questions.
Around 4,500 Banlga teachers at the colleges across the country will be trained on the new method by next month, the circular said.
This year SSC examinations in two papers -- Bangla 1st paper and religious studies -- were held under this method.
The government intends to apply this method in SSC examinations in all subjects in phases to stop students' dependence on memorisation.
The examinations in five more subjects -- general science, social science, geography, chemistry and business introduction-- will be held under the creative method next year.
In 2012, SSC examinations in 11 more subjects will be held under this method.
