3 Indians held on intrusion charge
Three Indian nationals were held on charge of intrusion in Barashashi border area under Boda upazila in Panchagarh on Monday night.
Company Commander of Barashashi border outpost (BOP) Nayek Subedar Abul Basher filed a case with Boda police station yesterday afternoon against the three.
Later the arrestees were produced before a Panchagarh Judicial Magistrate Court and judge Abdur Rouf ordered to send them to jail.
The arrestees are Razen Roy, 50, son of late Shukanu Roy, his son Sumon Roy, 30, and his nephew Manik Roy, 25, of Khoria Gumti Sarkarpara village in Jalpaiguri district.
Locals and BDR sources said the detainees entered into Bangladesh eight days ago without any legal documents and visited different places in Thakurgaon, Panchagarh and Dinajpur districts and met their near and dear ones.
On Monday night they returned to the village to go to India through Barashashi border.
At that time some villagers on suspicion asked them about their where about.
As they said they were Indians, locals detained them and handed them over to Company Commander of Barashashi BOP.
Later the BDR members handed the three over to Boda police station.
A case was filed by the company commander with Boda police station under Section 3(1) under Bangladesh Control of Entry Act of 1952, OC Kaiser Ali said.
