Daughter sues father

Laiju Begum, daughter of Anwara Begum who lost one eye as a result of her husband's cruelty, filed a case against her father under woman and child repression act yesterday.
An official of Ashar Alo NGO took Laiju from her husband's house to Baufal Police Station and filed the case.
Meanwhile, the victim is not getting proper treatment at Baufal Upazila Health Complex due to their financial inability.
Shilmoni Chakma, officer-in-charge of Baufal, said police will take lawful action in this regard.
On Saturday, Abdul Aziz of Char Baaret under Baufal upazila, tortured his wife Anwara and gouged her left eye out at night as he smelt kerosene in his supper.
