DU student expelled

The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have temporarily expelled a student who was arrested with firearms from Babubazar area in the city on Sunday.
Proctor Dr KM Saiful Islam Khan told The Daily Star that Arifur Rahman, who is also an activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League at Surya Sen Hall, was expelled on charge of tarnishing the image of the university.
“We will serve a show-cause notice on him tomorrow [today] asking him to clarify why his studentship would be cancelled permanently,” he added.
