Newsman stabbed in Sylhet

Criminals stabbed Sylhet correspondent of Saptahik--2000 and his friend in the city on Sunday midnight.
The victims, Fateh Osmani and his friend Abdul Malik, were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
According to a doctor, Fateh's condition is critical. He remained unconscious as of filing of this report at 5:00pm yesterday.
Witnesses said a gang of four intercepted Fateh and Malik at Shahi Eidgah road while they were returning to their houses in the city's Ambarkhana area in a motorbike at around 11:30 pm.
The gang stabbed the two in their chests and abdomens and left the scene in two motorbikes. Pedestrians found Fateh and Malik lying on the road and took them to the hospital.
The reason behind the attack could not be known. Police said they are trying to unearth the clue to the attack.
