Exhibition of late Shahrukh's works today
An exhibition and colourful fashion show will be held at Drik Gallery today with the illustrious and last works of noted designer artist Shahrukh Shahid, who died in February last.
During the exhibition, a memorial publications on Shahrukh titled 'Bandhu Toma-i Khuji, tumi je Rangdhanu er-i Bashindha' will be unveiled. Besides, newly formed Shahrukh Shahid Foundation will also be inaugurated on the occasion.
This was revealed at a press briefing at the Fashion House Shahrukh's collection, established by the late designer at Dhanmondi in the city.
Elder brother of Shahrukh and city editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Shahriar Shahid, leading beautician and editor of magazine Canvas Kaniz Almas Khan, Designer Emdad Huq, journalist Bizli Huq, Entrepreneur Musa Mohammad Hasinur Rahman Henry and Shahruk's sister Sharmin Shahid spoke at the press briefing.
Shahriar said they formed the foundation to expand the horizon of creativity and dreams of late Shahrukh to the young designers and artists.
This year, he said, the foundation would award the 'Deshi Dosh' -- a unity of ten leading fashion house of the country, as a reorganisation of their outstanding united efforts to flourish local textile through creative fashion designing.
One of the close persons of late designer Shahrukh Shahid, Khandakar Jamil Uddin was selected as the founder convener of the foundation.
