Three day ‘Charak Festival’ ends

Devotees offer flowers and other items to the traditional Charak tree.

The traditional 'Bothor Charak' festival concluded amidst festivity on Thursday. People from many communities and different areas of the district gathered at Bothor village of Chatmohart upazila under Pabna district on Thursday to observe the concluding ceremony of the festival.
The three- day festival began with devotees from different areas offering milk, sugar, flowers and other items to the traditional Charak tree. They sought the blessings of Goddess Mohadeb.
Mohammad Mokbul Hossain, MP, Trustee of Hindu Community Gonesh Chandra Ghosh and Chatmohart Upazila Nirbahi officer Firoz Shah were present at the festival.
The traditional 'Charak' festival is an example of communal and cultural harmony, said Kinkor Kumar Saha, the secretary of the Charak Festival Celebration Committee.
