'Women more vulnerable to climate change'
Women become more vulnerable when a community faces the negative impacts of climate change, said speakers at a dialogue yesterday.
Centre for Global Change (CGC) and Gender CC jointly organised dialogue titled 'Addressing Gender Concerns in Adaptation Discourse: Leadership Awaits Bangladesh' was held at the National Press Club in the city.
While presenting the keynote, Prof Sharmind Neelormi of Jahangirnagar University said women's rights, justice regarding gender-related issues and climate justice need to be linked to ensure the community's fundamental development.
State minister to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, lawmaker Zunayed Ahmed Palak and CGC Executive Director Ahsan Uddin Ahmed also spoke.
