Rubel gives confessional statement

Detectives investigating the double murder at Gulshan are now set to unearth the source of the firearm and ammunition used in the killings.
On Thursday, Detective Branch (DB) of police produced Rubel before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zulfikar Hayat after a three-day remand. Rubel gave his confessional statement at the court under section 164.
According to the statement, Rubel murdered his girlfriend's parents as the couple stood in the way of their love.
Rubel and his associate Mithun were arrested at Jhalakathi early Sunday. They went into hiding after killing businessman Sadequr Rahman and his wife Romana Nargis at their Kalachandpur home on March 24.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of DB Mollah Nazrul Islam said, "We need to interrogate Rubel more to find out the source of the firearm and ammunition."
