Ctg MSC shock Arambagh
Chittagong Mohammedan Sporting Club stunned hosts Arambagh KS 1-0 in their away fixture of the Bangladesh League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.
Linkon separated both the sides in the 66th minute after a barren first half.
No one might have thought that visiting Mohammedan would earn full points against hosts Arambagh, who thumped the Black and Whites 6-1 in their away match at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong. But the port city outfit proved the prediction wrong to leave the field with their third win in 13 matches.
Chittagong Mohammedan now have 12 points, two less than Arambagh, who dropped points after four consecutive matches.
Away at the MA Aziz Stadium, Chittagong Abahani and Farashganj MFS again shared honours after playing out a 1-1 draw as both sides after their goalless draw in their first meeting at the Big Bowl.
Nigerian Peter Akinkunmi struck the equaliser in the 90th minute to snatch a valuable point from the visitors, who went ahead in the 11th minute with a strike from Nigerian striker Lucky Uti.
The third draw in 13 matches meant Chittagong Abahani rose to 15 points to hold the fifth position in the 13-team points table while Farashganj with six draws have 12 points from 13 outings.
