“LUMIX Click to Fame”: First reality show on photography
Panasonic has recently launched the first reality TV show, “LUMIX Click to Fame”. This is the first photography based reality show in the subcontinent, according to a press release.
Panasonic's tagline is “Ideas for life.” As an extension of that concept, Panasonic LUMIX has organised the reality show to inspire and create a platform for photography enthusiasts in Bangladesh. The event started from March 16, 2010, with registration through www.lumixclicktofame.com or sending entries by post. The deadline for submission is April 5.
One hundred participants will be selected and their photos will be showcased in a three-day exhibition in Dhaka. A jury will select ten finalists from the exhibition. These finalists will feature in the television round, to be aired on Channel i. The TV round will have the finalists battling it out in both indoor settings and outdoor expeditions across the country.
The Grand Winner will receive a Lumix GH1, a cash reward of Tk 1,50,000, will be the brand ambassador for Panasonic Lumix, get the opportunity to have a photo exhibition and internship in two leading magazines.
The jury board for the competition includes renowned photographers Munira Morshed Munni, Dr. Md. Rashid-un-Nabi (EFIAP), Hasan Saifuddin Chandan (EFIAP) and Khademul Insan. Eminent photographer of the country, Anwar Hossain will be the online judge of the event.
Leading advertising agency MACOMM has conceptualised the event. Channel i is the associate partner.
