Jamaat's new strategy

Jamaat-e-Islami and its associate organisations have picked a strategy of using Bangabandhu's name to continue their activities among the children of Rajshahi under a new banner called Shishu Kantha Sangsad (SKS).
The organisation (SKS) came into light Wednesday when it opened a stall at a children's fair at Rajshahi Shishu Academy premises marking the 90th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu and the National Children's Day.
Claiming itself a non-political organisation, the SKS is selling biographies of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina and used Bangabandhu's name on their banner mentioning him as the "Father of the Nation", which many see as a strategy for surviving the Awami League government tenure.
They also tried modern songs to attract children and juveniles.
Many of the organisers of the SKS are allegedly affiliated with different Jamaat-Shibir associated organisations including Phulkurir Asor, Prottoy Shilpi Goshthi and Bikalpa Shahitto Sangsad.
The civil society and pro-liberation people of the city expressed concerns over the SKS alluring bright children by offering money for their write-ups and publishing them in magazines and books.
A concerned parent M Aftab Hossain said, "I did not let my son join SKS when I came to know about it. They are cheating people masking their real face."
Founder director of SKS Gazi Salauddin, who had reportedly edited a number of Shibir publications on behalf of Prottoy Shilpi Goshthi and is involved with Phulkuri, Bikalpa Shahitto Sangsad, denied his involvement with Shibir.
Former director of RU unit of Bikalpa Shahitto and Sangskriti Sangsad Suaib Hossain claimed himself an SKS adviser.
He is also the assistant director of Jamaat controlled Islami Bank Foundation backed organisation Rajshahi Sangskriti Kendra.
