Inter-club tennis from tomorrow

The Lacoste-Amazon inter-club tennis tournament will begin at the Club Amazon premises in Gulshan tomorrow.
A total of twelve clubs including six foreign clubs -- American Club, British High Commission Club, Nordic Club, Dutch Club, Australian Club and Bagha Club -- will take part in the 13-day meet.
The local clubs are Club Amazon, Old Cadet College Club, Gulshan Club, Officers Club, Gulshan Youth Club and Narayanganj Club.
A total of 80 players will compete in men's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles and a special event for veterans above 55 years.
Chief executive officer of Bangla Perfumes Distributors Ltd (BPDL), the sole local distributors of the renowned French perfume brand Lacoste, Khondokar Nazrul Islam disclosed the details at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) VIP lounge yesterday.
BPDL chairman Faridul Hasan Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.
