Tripura university to confer DLit on Hasina

The Central University of Tripura has decided to confer honorary DLit on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during its next convocation.
Indian President Pratibha Patil will also be invited to the convocation.
The executive council of the university has decided to confer D Lit on Hasina and invite Pratibha to be the chief guest in the next convocation, Vice Chancellor Prof Arunoday Saha said in Agartala on Monday.
"We have written to both the dignitaries and have been informed by confirmed sources that both of them have agreed to our proposal," Saha said.
The date of the convocation would be fixed according to the convenience of Hasina and Patil, he said, adding that it is likely to be held at the end of the year.
Appreciating the university's decision, Tripura Minister for Industries Jitendra Chowdhury said it is a welcome move.
