CPB, Workers Party faction merge

The Communist Party of Bangladesh and the Workers Party of Bangladesh (reconstituted) led by Haider Akbar Khan Rano have merged into one party.
The party will run its activities under the banner of The Communist Party of Bangladesh.
The merger between the two parties was announced at a press conference at the CPB office in the city yesterday. Manjurul Ahsan Khan, Mujahidul Islam Selim and Haider Akbar Khan Rano spoke at the press conference.
The leaders vowed to strengthen the left alternative political force in the country.
At a meeting of the central committee of the party, Haider Akbar Khan Rano was elected presidium member and Md Habibur Rahman and Shahrier Mohammad Firoj central committee members.
